Teleo - GK - "It is finished"

That says it all. It is finished. The pain and suffering that Jesus went through for us... beaten, bruised, ridiculed....only to become sin for us and declare....."teleo" - "it is finished."

2 Corinthians 5:21 - For He made Him who knew no sin [to be] sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Jesus didn't "take on our sin" as many teach....He became sin. Through the cross, we can make a choice to become and heir and shed the very spirit of sin we are born into. Through Him, we are no longer sinners, but saints. We are no longer bound to sin as we were when we lived through the flesh.

Romans 8:15-17 - For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with [Him], that we may also be glorified together.

As in the Roman society, when we are "adopted"...all debts are cancelled, we are now equal to the natural sons as an heir to the estate....and in the eyes of the law, we are no longer who we were. We have a new identity.

As I reflect on many friendships how strong bonds can become between friends how we grow to where we will sacrifice and lay down a lot to help them out.

Jesus said....(John 15:13 (ESV)) Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends.

He calls us friends and he did lay down his life for us. Jesus hung on a cross reserved for a robber named 'Barrabas' - "Barrabas" means in Greek - "son of the father" .....Jesus hung on a cross reserved for the son of the father.

"Teleo" - It is finished.
