Rest Day

OK...I'm going to stop arguing with myself....Today is officially called REST! What an amazing LifeGroup tonight we had 38 people in our home for an amazing night of testimony. Out of the 38 people we had testimony from 15 who went to Trinity Fellowship's Women's Retreat! Amazing....just the love of God that they were able to experience! And with that it is so important to pour that out to those who didn't get to go.

In Genesis 28, the author writes about when Jacob deceived Isaac into thinking he was Esau to receive the blessing meant for the oldest son. Once this happened he fled. During this time Jacob had an encounter with God who told him:

Genesis 28:15 (NKJV) - Behold, I [am] with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.

As we read...it was as if Jacob only heard "Behold, I am with you." Because once Jacob awoke he marked that one spot as the "house of God."

Genesis 28:22 (NKJV) - And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God's house...

But...what we need to remember, is that Jesus came and died for us and when he did the veil was torn on the "house of stone".....Jesus came and died so that God's House is now in us. And that means He is with us where ever we are....

Matthew 1:23 (NKJV) - "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated, "God with us."

Matthew 28:20 (NKJV) - lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age.

Whenever we have that retreat or mountain top experience, whenever that fire is lit in our hearts we need to remember that God is always with us....on the way to the mountain...on the way home from the mountain...God is with us NOW. We don't have to go to a place declared as the "House of God"....once we come to the cross and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior the House of God is us!!! He is with us!!!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) - Therefore, if anyone [is] in Christ, [he is] a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Where there is light, there is no darkness....inside the House of God there can be no darkness...it is His new house...Let His light shine!

Whoooooo!!!!
